BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- "While justice has not been done in Unit 731's case, the devil rears his head in disguise in another land. The notorious branch of the Japanese army was resurrected in the U.S., and its new name is Fort Detrick," wrote Xin Ping, a commentator on international affairs in a recent article The Devil Never Walks Away, saying that "Fort Detrick is a rehash of Unit 731."

Following are some excerpts from the article.

-- Culturing viruses, contaminating food with deadly bacteria, carrying out human experiments on living prisoners, and carving out human organs while they are still alive, these abominable crimes are not thriller plots, but what Unit 731 of the Kwantung Army of Japan did during WWII.

-- According to decrypted documents, the former commander of the Japanese Kwantung Army, General Yatozo Yamada said at a trial that "there was enough of killer bacteria to cover the whole world."

-- Seventy-six years have passed since Japan's surrender in WWII, but the Japanese government has made no official acknowledgment of the atrocities committed by Unit 731 against test subjects, though a mountain of ironclad evidence proves Japan's heinous crimes of biological warfare.

-- With Fort Detrick at the center, the U.S. continues to carry out biological experiments in its laboratories...America's 200 biological laboratories deployed outside its national territory, scattered across 25 countries and regions, have been a great cause for concern for the rest of the global community.

-- World War II is over, but the criminal trial for launching biological warfare is far from being completed. Seven decades ago, the U.S. participated in WWII trials as a plaintiff. This time, it should appear in court as a defendant like Japan.
